These Buyer Terms & Conditions ("Buyer Terms") apply to all users who browse, enquire about, or purchase items through The Motorsport Hangar ("we", "us", "our", "the platform").

By using our website or contacting sellers through our platform, you agree to these Buyer Terms as well as our general Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy.

1. Our Role

The Motorsport Hangar is a classifieds marketplace only. We do not:

• own any items listed
• inspect or verify items
• guarantee conditions or descriptions
• participate in payments between buyers and sellers
• guarantee delivery or collection
• provide warranties or assurances
• mediate disputes

All transactions are strictly between the buyer and seller.

You are responsible for verifying the item before agreeing to purchase.

2. Buyer Responsibilities

As a buyer, you agree that you will:

• conduct your own checks, inspections, and due diligence
• ensure you understand what you are buying
• verify item condition, legality, and authenticity
• agree payment terms directly with the seller
• comply with UK laws when buying restricted items
• use safe and secure payment methods

You understand that motorsport equipment and vehicles carry inherent risks and must be inspected before use.

3. No Guarantee of Listings

We do not guarantee:

• availability of items
• accuracy of listings
• condition of vehicles or parts
• that sellers will respond to enquiries
• that items are fit for purpose
• that items meet motorsport regulations
• that items are free from damage or defects

Buying without inspecting carries risk — you acknowledge and accept this.

4. Communication With Sellers

Buyers may contact sellers through:

• internal messaging
• seller-provided contact details (if shown)

You must NOT:

• send abusive or threatening messages
• send spam or irrelevant content
• attempt to scam or mislead sellers
• request unnecessary personal information
• misuse the messaging system

We may monitor messages to ensure safety.

5. Payments

The Motorsport Hangar does not:

• handle any payments for item purchases
• act as an escrow service
• guarantee refunds
• intervene in payment disputes

Payments are arranged directly between buyer and seller.

We strongly recommend:

• secure, traceable payment methods
• avoiding cash-only arrangements for high-value items
• conducting an in-person inspection before paying
• using a bill of sale for vehicles and equipment

You purchase items at your own risk.

6. Fraud & Scams

If you suspect a fraudulent listing or seller, you must:

• report it using the platform tools
• stop communication immediately
• avoid sending deposits or payments

We may take action including:

• removing listings
• suspending accounts
• notifying law enforcement

However, we are not liable for losses resulting from fraudulent sellers.

7. Prohibited Buyer Behaviour

Buyers must NOT:

• misuse seller contact details
• attempt to obtain items without paying
• harass or threaten sellers
• negotiate in bad faith
• post defamatory feedback
• engage in scams or fraudulent activity
• encourage off-platform deals intended to evade seller fees

We may suspend or ban accounts for violations.

8. Inspections & Safety

Buyers acknowledge that motorsport items include:

• race cars
• engines and gearboxes
• high-performance parts
• helmets, suits, and safety equipment
• pit equipment
• tyres and wheels

These items are often race-used, sold as-is, and may carry significant risk if not properly inspected.

You accept that:

• you must inspect items before purchase
• used safety equipment may not meet FIA/MSUK standards
• motorsport vehicles require specialised knowledge
• failure to inspect can result in financial loss or safety hazards

The Motorsport Hangar is not responsible for safety or suitability of any item.

9. No Warranty

The Motorsport Hangar provides no warranty regarding:

• quality
• fitness for purpose
• condition
• legality
• completeness
• compatibility
• performance

All items are bought entirely at your own risk.

Any warranty or guarantee is strictly between you and the seller.

10. Disputes With Sellers

We do not mediate disputes. If a dispute arises, it must be resolved:

• directly with the seller
• through civil action if necessary
• with Trading Standards (if applicable)
• through police (if fraud is suspected)

We may remove or ban a seller if multiple complaints are raised, but we cannot intervene in individual disputes.

11. Intellectual Property

Buyers must not:

• copy listing photos or videos
• duplicate descriptions
• misuse seller content

All content belongs to its respective owner.

12. Liability Limitations

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

We are not liable for:

• losses or damages resulting from transactions
• inaccurate listings
• misrepresentation by sellers
• unsafe or faulty items
• delivery/collection issues
• payment disputes
• vehicle defects or hidden faults
• loss of profits or reputation

Your use of the platform is entirely at your own risk.

13. Account Suspension

We may suspend or close your account if you:

• violate these Buyer Terms
• abuse sellers or staff
• engage in or attempt fraud
• misuse the platform
• consistently raise false complaints

14. Governing Law

These Buyer Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes must be resolved in the UK courts.
